Data Privacy & File Handling
-
All client content is handled via General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)-compliant platforms, including encrypted cloud drives (Google Workspace Business/Drive or equivalent).
Access is restricted to the project lead only (Valeria De Donno), with no third-party subcontractor access unless agreed in writing.
Files are shared via secure, expiring links. Sensitive materials are deleted from transfer folders once delivery is confirmed. -
All work is stored and backed up using cloud storage with two-factor authentication.
A data retention policy is in place — only project-relevant files are stored, and access is reviewed after project completion.

All feedback is collected via a shared Google Drive folder, organized for each content type (video, reels, graphics) with clear version tracking. Clients may leave feedback via email or the dedicated shared doc in the relevant shared folder. This keeps the process efficient, secure, and easy to follow, allowing for fast updates and delivery.

Real-time communication is available via Google Chat for quick coordination — while formal feedback and approvals are tracked via email and Google Drive for version control.
Why Collaborating With Zero Defeat
Research consistently demonstrates the need for digital storytelling-based content in mental wellness and personal development, primarily through studies on storytelling, emotion-focused coaching (EFC), and emotional intelligence in health communication.
Sources such as Asteroid Health (clinical insights provider), the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and the Journal of Psychotherapy Integration highlight the versatility—as well as the therapeutic and transformative potential—of storytelling in mental health, offering insights such as:
-
Emotional Processing and Healing: Research shows that sharing and listening to personal stories can reduce anxiety and stress, boost self-esteem, and improve mood by helping individuals process difficult emotions and find meaning in their experiences.
-
Reduced Stigma and Increased Help-Seeking: Digital storytelling interventions—where individuals share personal experiences of mental illness—can significantly reduce mental health symptoms in the storytellers and decrease stigma among audiences, making them more willing to seek support. By reframing challenges, individuals can also distance themselves from stigmatizing narratives, such as those focused on personal blame.
-
Building Resilience and Empathy: Storytelling interventions have been found to enhance psychological resilience in both children and adults by providing coping strategies, fostering a sense of connection, and building empathy among listeners and viewers. By sharing personal stories, individuals can reclaim agency over their narratives, promoting both resilience and personal growth.
Additional insights from the Journal of Mental Health (Vol. 32, Issue 3, 2023) include:
-
Improving Attitudes and Beliefs: Digital media campaigns that feature relatable and emotionally resonant content are effective in shifting public attitudes and beliefs about mental health—for example, by reducing stigma around depression and increasing people’s confidence in supporting others.
-
The Need for Emotionally Engaging Content: A 2024 analysis of mental health content on TikTok found that videos discussing mental health often underutilized emotional appeals. As a result, they underperformed compared to general health videos in terms of engagement—highlighting a clear need and missed opportunity for more emotionally compelling mental health content.
In summary, a body of research confirms that emotionally compelling content is vital for facilitating personal healing, building resilience, reducing stigma, and driving meaningful engagement in mental wellness and mindset coaching. Such content enables deep emotional processing and fosters connection—making it essential for impactful communication in this space.
Research from the McKinsey Health Institute indicates that workplace health remains a significant concern—for instance, only 57 % of employees surveyed reported good holistic health. This highlights the critical need for strategic wellbeing communications and mental‑health‑focused interventions—such as targeted digital content—to support retention, reduce burnout, and enhance engagement.
Multimedia formats—including video—are increasingly adopted in internal communications for training, leadership messages, and wellbeing programmes. This trend suggests that high‑quality video content holds strong potential for both external social media reach and internal organisational communication strategies.

About Valeria De Donno
I founded Zero Defeat drawing from a combination of my strong sense of commitment to mental wellness, mindset transformation and from background in UK broadcast television, where I worked as a Casting Assistant Producer on factual and factual entertainment programmes across ITV, BBC, Channel 4, and Channel 5. My role focused on sourcing and interviewing contributors, identifying the most emotionally resonant aspects of their stories, and shaping those narratives to align with editorial priorities and production goals.
This included:
-
Conducting in-depth, targeted research to source suitable contributors for a range of factual and factual entertainment programmes
-
Editing contributor interviews for emotional tone, clarity, and compliance with channel guidelines — ensuring sensitive topics were approached appropriately
-
Pitching guest profiles and casting tapes to producers and series leads
-
Ensuring compliance with Ofcom standards, including trauma-informed practices, non-triggering language, and mental health-safe storytelling
-
Worked alongside mental health professionals to safeguard contributor wellbeing throughout the production cycle
-
Preparing guests for filming by briefing them on production expectations, set conduct, filming structure, and emotional tone — ensuring they understood the process, completed release forms, and were aligned with producers’ creative direction
My experience extended beyond production into editing casting footage and writing contributor bios, aligning narratives with each broadcaster’s tone, values, and audience — always balancing editorial impact with ethical responsibility.
In addition to this background, I am skilled in industry-standard video and photo editing for social media, as well as branded content design. My work places strong emphasis on engagement, compliance, subject sensitivity, and visual strategy — grounded in current best practices for professional communication, content safety, and audience engagement across digital platforms.
Alongside my media experience, I have also worked in B2B customer support roles, where I developed a reputation for accurate, rapid, and seamless assessment of client needs, strong rapport building, and effective solution delivery. This informs my approach to clients support — combining editorial storytelling, media ethics, and strategic insight to help them communicate with clarity, care, and resonance across digital platforms.
